Common Problems And Treatment To PCB Board Drilling Process - B

As we know, there’re many steps for PCB board fabrication. During the process, drilling is one of the most important process, many problems may happen during the process. Here I make introduction on the main problems and relative treatment.

1、drilling bit broken---introduced before.
2、via damage
Root cause includes:
Taking the drill bit after broken; Drilling without aluminum or clamp the blank; Parameter error; Drill bit elongate; valid length of drill bit can’t meet the requirements of drilling pile layer thickness; Hand drilling; Burred caused because of special raw material.

Solution:
(1) according to the previous problem, ruling out cause of knife breaking, make the right treatment.
2) aluminum and back plane perform as protection to the via, must be used during production, distinguish the available and unavailable back plane, put them at the same direction, need to be taken double check before using.
(3) before drilling, must check if the drilling depth is in accordance with the drilling bit, check parameters of every drill bit are set correctly.
(4) check the location of the drill bit is correct when drilling machine catching the drill bit, then start the machine, boot drill tip generally can not exceed the presser foot when machine start.
(5) Check the valid length of the drill bit by visual before put onto machine, and measure the fold number of the available working laminates.
(6) If the accuracy, rotate speed of hand drilling can’t meet the the requirement, manual drilling should be forbidden.
(7) When setting the parameters to special raw material, proper selection of parameters should be taken according to the situation of quality, feed should not be too fast.

3、via location offset
Root cause includes:In the process of PCB board drilling, bit location moved; Improper selection to material of cover plate, softness or hardness discomfort; harmomegathus to material cause the offset of via; improper use to the adopted setting tool;improper setting on presser foot, it hit the pin and lead the remove of working laminates;resonance happen during the working to drill bit;Collect chuck not clean or damaged;slid caused by the touching of drill bit to cover plate during running; no pin; different base point; tape not sticked firmly; movement deviation happen to the Drilling machine's X, Y axis; problem with procedure.

Solution to problem 3 will be introduced in next document.

Common Problems And Treatment To PCB Board Drilling Process - A

As we know, there’re many steps for PCB board fabrication. During the process, drilling is one of the most important process, many problems may happen during the process. Here I make introduction on the main problems and relative treatment.
1、drilling bit broken
Root cause includes:Excessive spindle deflection; wrong operation taken by operator during drilling; Not appropriate choosing to drilling bit;insufficient rotate speed to drill bit;Laminated layer too much;Debris between plate and plate or under plate;the depth of the drilling spindle too deep cause poor chip removal; Amounts of drill tip grinding and super life use; Cover scratches crease, plate bending uneven; Fixed base board tape too wide or flat aluminum, plank is too small; Feeding speed is too fast compression; Improper operation during hole filling; Under the cover plate aluminium serious plugging ash; Welding the center of the drill tip pointed and drill tip handle deviation in the center.
  Solution:
  (1) Notice the part to repair the spindle, ore change for better spindle
  (2) A、Check whether there is stress beriberi pipeline jam
  B、Adjust the pressure of the foot according to the situation of the drill bit, check the pressure data of the foot when pressing, the normal is 7.5 kg;
C、Check the spindle speed variation and whether there is copper wire inside the clamp mouth uniformity which may impact speed
D、Check the spindle speed variation and the stability of the main shaft.
E、Carefully adjust the pressure between the feet and bit, drill tip pointed not show presser foot, allowing only the tops of drill within the presser foot 3.0 mm
F、Test the parallel degree of mesa drilling and stability
(3) check the geometry shape of drill bit, wear and use chip back slot length appropriate drilling bit.
(4) select the appropriate amount of feed, reduce feed rate.
(5) reduce to the appropriate number of laminated.
(6) when the upper plate clean surfaces and under the cover of sundry, keep the surface clean.
(7) adjustment notification machine spindle drilling depth, maintain good drilling depth. (normal to control the depth of the hole in the 0.6 mm shall prevail.)
(8) number control grinding (wi) or in accordance with the parameters in the table Settings.
(9) choose suitable surface hardness, flat cover and plate.
(10) carefully check the status of tape fixed and width, replace the cover plate aluminium sheet, check the size.
(11) decrease the feed rate.
(12) operation should pay attention to the correct hole location.
(13) A, check the height of presser foot and presser foot exhaust slot is normal;

In next comment. Will introduce other problem which may usually happen during drilling.

Wonderful PCB Prototype Tips

Constructing a PCB prototype is really a job very greatest left to pros, as it specifications to become carried out in accordance to exact specs. Any errors in the course of the prototyping stage could possess a cascading result on your PCB boards and things through the production run. Taking your designs to a specialist PCB manufacturing firm which can accurately create your prototype can get rid of errors that will expense worthwhile time and cash. Following are the issues which you ought to assume from a respected firm that builds prototype circuit boards:

PCB style and manufacturing businesses present solutions for versatile as nicely as rigid printed prototype circuit boards. The strategy ought to ideally commence using a expert overview of one's files for style and style for manufacturer capability. This signifies that your merchandise will be created a whole lot far more manufacture-capable by addressing a variety of feasibility and performance aspects. Your files will also be reviewed for excellent good quality supplies and swift turnaround. Rushing a file assessment will not be the really finest organization practice. It really is most effective to pick a firm that assures a thorough critique even if it takes longer. Checking for challenges at an early stage assures that no time is wasted through the vital phases.

Wonderful PCB is often a skilled PCB prototype manufacturer in Shenzhen China. It can provide thorough service including checking your Gerber file, give suitable suggests according to your style, analyze your design, manufacture, packing and excellent after-sale service! Wonderful PCB would be the provider that you simply will need. It might assist with trouble shooting, redesigning, or making variations from the very same circuit. These value-additional solutions are what distinguish mediocre makers from expert firms.

We right here provide some suggestions when make PCB prototype!

1). Verify the hole and pad diameters of plated-through VIAS. When you want a 12-mil-diameter plated-through hole, as an example, a printed circuit board vendor will probably drill a 17-mil hole and the internal plating will decrease the hole to 12 mils. But drills usually do not normally hit dead center. To ensure you still have enough pad area in the leading and bottom in the hole, make the pad diameter 10 mils bigger than the drill size. If tight spacing prevents beefing up the pad diameter, try to use a smaller hole. In all instances, you'd like a large enough annular ring of copper on both sides on the board to make sure excellent conductivity by way of the Via.4 layer BGA PTH holes unplugged immersion gold 3u" and black solder mask

2). Generating diameters of openings within a solder mask is advisable. 5 Mils are larger than their linked pads. The bigger opening helps make sure the solder mask does not encroach around the electrical pad.

3). Anytime possible, set your circuit board layout software to "flash" pads instead of draw them. A flashed pad exists as a single geometric entity although a drawn pad comprises several lines utilized to fill an location. The latter markedly increases the size of Gerber files and may bring about production complications.
"

4). Give PCB vendors comprehensive "contact" details. Supply detail contact details if you need a speedy response.

5). Generally include things like an accurate board outline on a minimum of 1 layer; also clearly show any slots or cutouts on this layer. Vendors can use this facts to create routing and scoring programs, which saves money and time.

6). Circuit boards designers should endeavor to keep traces and pads a minimum of 20 mils from their PCB edges. Board-dimension tolerances of ±5 mils are common, and also you don't want traces reduce or damaged during production. PCB fast prototyping maker will look in the PCB traces and pads and if attainable try to move them slightly away from edges. But with some layouts, that is not possible.
